The federal government has revised the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9). The revisions include new fields, reformatting to reduce errors, and more user-friendly instructions for completing the form.
Although the deadline to begin using the new form is May 7, 2013, all agencies should begin using the updated version immediately, It is not necessary to complete new forms for employees who have an existing form on file unless reverification applies.
